Major Changes Coming!!!

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! PLEASE READ!!!!!!

Due to a technical problem that Yahoo has been unable to help us with, most of the Caerleon and Avalon yahoogroups will have to be deleted and recreated from scratch. This will take place in approximately one week.

When this happens, the boards will be deleted, then the membership list from the groups will be added to the new ones freshly created.

IMPORTANT: Members are not added automatically-- you will have to *respond to an email* to actually be added to the replacement board. This is due to Yahoo policy. Please READ your emails to see if you need to do this, or you may miss out on announcements!
With the loss of the boards will come the loss of the years of accumulated bookmarks, files, and message archives. All group members are urged to visit the yahoogroups site to grab what information they need or want from the yahoo site before the board is lost.

The affected boards are:

To those who feel Yahoo has many problems and we should look elsewhere, you are not alone. We looked at many potential new community suppliers on the web, both free and paid, in the hopes of finding a more suitable provider. No other company offered any more tech service than yahoo does, and many did not offer the features that are most used by our members. Most of our members are also used to and comfortable with yahoo, and are already configured into the yahoo system. Since there would be no tangible benefit to switching providers, The Board of Directors decided to stick with yahoo for now.

Anyone who knows of a provider of serviced akin to yahoogroups, but by a more reliable company, are encouraged to send their suggestions in the next week to solstice@moscow.com so that the BoD can check them out for suitability.

We apologize profusely for the inconvenience and complications that may result from this problem.

Full body armor set

A friend of Lloyd's has recently acquired a home made suit of armor used for medieval tournaments. The helmet is professionally made. He wondered if anyone in the Club/Realms of Avalon may be interested in checking it out, as he really has no use for it.

Contact Lloyd if you are interested.

12-5-04: Thatuna Sewing Workshop; Jo-Ann Fabrics, Moscow, ID; 11am-5pm

Hello! There will be a Thatuna sewing workshop at the Moscow Jo-Ann fabric store on Sunday, Dec. 5th (next Sunday), starting at 11am and running until (potentially) 5pm. We will be in the back classroom as usual, and there will be at least 2 sewing machines and some sewing equiupment (shears, measuring tapes, pins, etc.) on-site; people are also encouraged to bring their own sewing gear if possible.

There is no set project this time -- it's going to be more of a general work/project session (remember, 12th Night and the "best garb" competition are coming up in Jan.!), probably to be enlivened by Dame Ruth's attempts to machine-quilt the fabric for a new gambeson (which is Dame Ruth's major project planned for the day . . .).

Let Ruth know if you plan to attend, so she can let the Jo-Ann folks know how many people to expect (right now the classroom is full of extra fleece fabric, they say, but they think they can have it cleared out enough to fit us all in by Sun.!). Sorry for the somewhat short notice, but a few schedules had to be worked out before this event could be scheduled.

Happy Sewing!

Upcoming Thatuna events

There's a lot planned for the Barony of Thatuna over the next couple of months, and we thought it would be good to post an overall schedule so folks can plan ahead.
