I have 3 passions:

  1. Loving God with everything in me.

  2. Understanding and applying God's Word to every area of  my life.

  3. Helping college students to love God with everything in them and apply His Word.

It is in the midst of doing the above that I feel the most alive.

Jason Kelly - U of I Chi Alpha Pastor

I'm a 29 year old from Seattle, Washington who met Jesus in 1996 as a college student at Western Washington University. My former passion to forge a career as a political  cartoonist soon was eclipsed with a passion to know God and to make Him known.

After graduating in 1998, I did overseas missions with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Northern Ireland and Uganda. I then did 2 years of campus ministry training with Chi Alpha at WWU and went to the U of I in the fall of 2000 as a campus pastor to direct Chi Alpha full time.

I am married to Kara Kelly; we have a dog named Tozer (after my favorite author).

Favorite Book: The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer

Favorite Quote: "Don't ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive and go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

-Gil Baillic

Favorite Verse: "I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ- the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith."

- Philippians 3:8-9
