We are dedicated to raising awareness of gender and women's issues, workin for gender equality, and raising a feminist voice for consciousness and social change on campus and in the community.

WHAT WE STAND FOR :

  • Feminism on the UI campus
  • Gender pay equity
  • Women's reproductive choice
  • Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer rights and equality
  • Ending men’s violence against women
  • Women who have broken the rules and men who have recognized and fought alongside them
  • Racial equity and equality
  • Reexamination of all aspects of our lives for how they have been socially constructed along race, class, heterosexual, and gender lines

 In other words:

  • Sex equality.

  • Domestic violence (battering, stalking, manipulation and coercion of all forms, isolation, etc. - see the website for Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse for more info)
  • Rape and all forms of sexual harassment, abuse, and assault
  • Androcentrism (click here for more information)
  • Racism
  • Racial inequality (and the movements and ideologues that attempt to excuse, apologize, minimize, or distract attention from the fact of its existence)
  • Historical revisionism
  • Homophobia and anti-gay/LGBT policies, laws, and attitudes
  • Traditional (i.e., androcentric) gender roles
  • Classism and class inequality; America as a racial and gender caste society
  • Pornography
  • Human trafficking and sexual slavery
