Material Advantage is an organization for Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering students.
The organization is an amalgamation of four parent organizations, the Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society (TMS), the Materials Information Society (ASM International), The American Ceramic Society (ACerS), and the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST). These four organizations, through Material Advantage, give students a window into industry and new developments in materials science.
Material Advantage also provides scholarship opportunities, internship information, and industry contacts through local chapters, its website, and various conferences and meetings throughout the United States. Most importantly, the information provided to students through our University of Idaho Chapter, as well as on the websites for Material Advantage and it's parent Organizations, will help you to know what materials science is all about.
