Idaho National Labs is a federally funded research facility. The lab specializes in energy production research, notably nuclear power. A security clearance will be required, US citizens or permanent residents only.

Pacific Northweset National Labs is a federally funded research facility. As the site produced the plutonium for the first nuclear bomb, it focuses on waste disposal and other areas.
