Welcome to the SPJ - University of Idaho chapter website!
·
The UI SPJ provisional chapter is
the only journalism organization on campus at the University of Idaho.
After years of inactivity, the group was rekindled a couple years ago
and this year is our first official year as a nationally recognized
chapter.
·
The University
of Idaho Argonaut, of which
many reporters and editors are SPJ members, had a strong showing at
the SPJ National Conference Oct. 16-18 in Las Vegas. The student newspaper
took home the award for the Best Non-Daily Newspaper in the Nation
for the 2004 SPJ Mark of Excellence Awards. Also, Frank McGovern, the
liberal opinion columnist for The Argonaut and a writer for the University of Idaho Blot magazine, earned a
first place award for his work at the magazine.
·
In other news: Chapter leaders
have been working hard to get guest speakers for our Fall 2005 SPJ Career Panel. For more information on
the panelists, check out the Upcoming Events
section. We welcome all majors to the event!
·
