WHY ME?

If you are a junior, you're in the top eighth of your class; if you're a senior, you're in the top fifth. However, distinguished scholarship is not enough. Members also must have exemplary character -- "integrity, breadth of interest both inside and outside engineering, adaptibility, and unselfish activity." Tau Bates are honest, flexible, well-rounded people. These are high standards, and we believe that you meet them.

Tau Beta Pi's Laureate Program awards cash grants of $2,500 to student members who have excelled in both extracurricular activities and engineering studies.

COSTS

Your Tau Beta membership does not end with your college career; it is a lifetime membership. There are no annual dues. A single fee paid at the time of initiation provides you with a certificate, a key, complete information about the Association, and a four-year subscription to our quarterly magazine, THE BENT. It also finances annual convention expenses and pays for the local programs of your chapter. However, no student is ever denied membership because he or she cannot afford the fee at the time of election; loans are available.

FOR STUDENTS

Tau Beta Pi is a student organization with alumnus advisors. Your fellow students have invited you because you have honored your alma mater by your high scholarship, and you are the kind of engineering student the Society was founded to recognize.
